Erasmus+ and ECHE

Erasmus+ is the EU’s flagship programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport and will be continued in the period 2021-2027. Cross-border mobility for all age groups, cooperation through European projects and the support of political reforms will remain the core activities of Erasmus+.

The European Commission has launched the new Erasmus+ programme for all European Institutions to improve cooperation between the worlds of work and education. It provides grants and training for about 4 million people and 125 000 institutions.

Erasmus+ supports the creation of a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) through increased learning opportunities abroad for students and teachers. It brings a renewed focus on skills for employment and on improvement of quality in teaching and learning. Erasmus+ also provides exposure to different cultures.

The Private University College for Teacher Education Burgenland has been awarded the new Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) which will be valid until completion of the Erasmus+ projects during the academic year 2027. It entitles our institution to apply for Erasmus funding for student mobility for studies and for traineeships, as well as for the transnational mobility activities for staff members, both academic and administrative. The charter also allows us to participate in projects funded under the Erasmus+ programme.
