Since it must be ensured that students who begin an extension course at Master's level have the necessary prior knowledge in the respective subject/specialisation, admission is only possible if a Bachelor programme for the teaching profession at secondary level (general education) or an extension course to extend a Bachelor's degree course SekAB or a six-semester Bachelor's degree course for the teaching profession at a university college for teacher education in conjunction with an extension course pursuant to Section 3.2.2 of the German Education Act (Pädagogische Hochschule) is completed in the subject or in the specialisation which is enrolled as an extension course according to § 54c UG or § 38d HG. The courses to be completed are marked with "EWS" in the table in the respective module descriptions of the teaching subjects.
In principle, graduates or students of a foreign Master or diploma programme may also be admitted to the extension studies for the extension of a Master programme. Due to the different structures of teacher training in other countries, however, a case-by-case examination is necessary here.
Admission procedure:
Applicants who wish to be admitted to the extension studies to extend their teacher training by a teaching subject/specialisation are exempt from the general admission procedure, but must meet or prove that they have met the admission requirements for specific teaching subjects (artistic and professional aptitude, ranking procedure, UBVO additional examinations before admission).
